What foods make a healthy snack?

Healthy snacks help children meet their nutrition needs.

For each snack, offer foods from 2 of the 4 food groups in Canada’s Food Guide:

  • Vegetables and Fruit (include a vegetable or fruit most of the time)
  • Grain Products
  • Milk and Alternatives
  • Meat and Alternatives
