Dr. Lynne Lafave is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Physical Education at Mount Royal University. Lynne holds a PhD in nutritional sciences from the University of Manitoba and her research focuses on interrelationships between nutrition behaviours, attitudes, and knowledge with special interest in individual and organizational behaviour change. She and her team have developed the evidenced-based Creating Healthy Eating and active EnviRonments Scale (CHEERS) for child care. This work represents a collaboration with Alberta Health Services, ELCC directors and educators. The Government of Alberta – Children’s Services has funded a number of projects that have supported the integration of CHEERS across Alberta to promote healthy child care environments (cheerskids.ca).
