The CHEERS for child care project has been led by nutrition researchers and dietitians from Mount Royal University and Alberta Health Services with guidance from the child care sector including directors, educators, policy makers, and government.

This project began in 2009 with a local committee of child care directors, early learning educators, dietitians from Alberta Health Services and researchers from Mount Royal University in response to community identification of gaps in nutrition support for the child care sector.

The development, review and support of the CHEERS for child care self-administered tool has been supported by:

  • Mount Royal University
  • Alberta Health Services – Nutrition Services, Population & Public Health Strategy
  • Government of Alberta  – Children’s Services, Early Childhood Development
